Our Projects
The Social Justice Committee of PCUUC advances human rights, social justice, and respect for the web of life. We encourage the PCUUC community to act locally and globally to promote the welfare of others, and by using the UU principles we challenge unjust power structures and their oppressive policies.
Paint Creek UUC strives to put the 7 UU Principles into action through projects that are both local and global in scope. Our intent is to address human and earth justice issues including war; climate change; disaster relief; and the human right to food, water, shelter, healthcare and education.
To increase our impact on these major concerns, we team up with other groups including Neighborhood House, Birmingham Unitarian Church, St. John Fisher Chapel, Habitat for Humanity, 350.org, Kids 4 Afghan Kids and the UUSC.
Knowledge is power. PCUUC strives to increase awareness of serious issues including gay rights and freedom from oppression. We conduct peace and peacemaking study groups, public film nights and forums, and climate change actions. By raising awareness and our calls to action, we hope to move closer having human and earth justice for all.
