PCUUC Mission

We live our principles by BECOMING

  • Believing in and supporting the sanctity of the planet’s sustainability and infinite diversity
  • Engaging people to act for peace and social justice
  • Connecting to spiritual traditions and possibilities through word, music, and reflection
  • Offering friendship, compassion, love and community
  • Mentoring youth and adults through lifelong learning
  • Including all in the stewardship of the congregation
  • Nurturing peaceful processes in our relationship
  • Growing with intentional awareness

As part of our mission, our congregation strives to create a welcoming community of diverse individuals. To that end, Paint Creek UU completed the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Welcoming Congregation Program several years ago. As a Welcoming Congregation, we have made a public commitment to:

  • Include and address the concerns of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender persons at every level of congregational life.

  • Celebrate the lives of all people and welcome same-sex couples, recognizing their committed relationships.

  • Seek to nurture ongoing dialogue between LGBT and heterosexual persons, and create deeper trust and understanding.

  • Advocate for LGBT people, attending to legislative developments and working to promote justice, freedom, and equality in the larger society.
