PCUUC History
Paint Creek Unitarian Universalist Congregation, is an independent, self-governing congregation. Its first service in December 1992 was led by The Reverend Carol Huston. Within a year PCUUC had 51 charter members.
PCUUC began its outreach mission by taking a leadership role in the development of a campus ministry program and an annual community service to commemorate the work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., an event that continues to this day.
In September 2001 The Reverend Lisa Presley was called to serve the congregation as an interim minister when Rev. Huston left. Under her guidance, the PCUUC membership assessed its progress and its goals as it searched for a new full-time minister.
The Reverend Leonetta Bugleisi was installed as PCUUC’s minister in January 2004 and added solstice celebrations and adult spirituality classes to the PCUUC experience. Under her guidance PCUUC conducts its Sunday Service and its outreach in the community to raise awareness of Unitarian Universalism and take action to live the 7 UU Principles.
