Religious Education for Children

Religious education for children is a high priority for UUs. The children learn about themselves and others and gain confidence in their ability to make choices and become creative problem solvers. Our curriculum, developed by the UU Association, rotates yearly from World Religions, Unitarian Universalist Identity, and other topics such as Peace and Justice.

Toddlers and Infants spend their time in a safe and comfortable nursery with a high school student or an adult from the congregation. Children 5 years of age and up are taught religious education in a classroom by our RE teachers. Parents take turns assisting in the classroom.

Each month there is a party, a fun event, or a service project for our children outside the classroom to enhance friendship and the expression of joy.

Our youth group, 7th-12th grades, is led by Rev. Leonetta Bugleisi.. They do activities, volunteer and are encouraged to attend conferences and retreats sponsored by the Heartland Unitarian Universalist District.
